Kenshin & Tomoe, the night before the battle in the forest of barriers

Kenshin promising to protect her happiness...

And Tomoe...we can only imagine how she was feeling that night, realising that she had fallen for him, inadvertently betraying her first love and now she is a pawn to bring down this second love...

The title is the song title and also a prayer...

song is angsty enough...some of the lyrics seemed to fit her feelings, and some of his. (No, I don't speak Korean, I just looked it up)

I had a devil of a time trying to get Tomoe's looks..realistic and yet resembling the manga, the right expression (at one point I was going to throw the whole piece out, deleted her eyes entirely after I had painted the whole face and restarted..and the HAIR..initially she looked like *yikes* a goth chick..

adjusted the lighting and the shading on Tomoe's face to correspond with Kenshin, still have some issues but I figure I'll save it for my next piece
